British Music Showcases Its Eclecticism @ SXSW 2023

Featured Photo

SXSW 2023 is in full swing, with showcases from up-and-coming talent gracing stages across the resurgent Austin festival. Crowds are up, and the buzz throughout the city is palpable. The breadth of music on show is breathtaking, and nowhere is this highlighted more than at the British Music Embassy, where the best of UK based up and coming talent is being showcased.

In the past few days we’ve sees (very) heavy metal from Newcastle breakouts Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, glossy pop punk from Girli, the first BME classical music showcase, from Classical for the Now, Max Cooper’s mind-bending 3D/AV show, the soulful sounds of Sans Soucis, and Balming Tiger’s wonderfully off-kilter ‘alt-KPop’ stylings, as well as two very different punk takes, by Gen and the Degenerates and Panic Shack, who complemented each other perfectly, and showed off the breadth contained in that particular genre.

We’re on the ground in Austin and will be bringing you extended coverage from the festival in the coming days and weeks, but for now, here’s just a few of our favourite images from a very diverse BME.
