Preview: Mad Cool Festival – 5 Nights In The Beautiful City Of Madrid
Mad Cool Festival, one of the hottest new European music festivals, returns to Madrid with an unbelievable lineup featuring 100+ bands across 5 nights.
Since arriving on the scene in 2016, Mad Cool enjoyed two successful years, which included winning the prestigious 2018 NME award for Best Festival Line-up. The award comes as no surprise considering the gargantuan lineups that host some of the biggest acts in the world.
The festival was previously located indoors in Caja Mágica sports stadium, situated in the heart of Madrid. After two pandemic-forced years away from the action, Mad Cool is fully embracing the return of live music, upgrading its home to an 500 hectare field outdoors in Valdebebas (still in central Madrid). In addition, the schedule has been extended across five nights instead of the previous three, giving music fans even more to look forward to.
Unlike typical British festivals, Mad Cool doesn’t kick off until 6pm. This gives attendees the chance to make the most of the day and enjoy a sangria or two, before hitting the festival until 430am.
The lineup is arguably one of the best this year, featuring world-class rock headliners such as Metallica, Muse, Kings Of Leon, and Queens of the Stone Age. For the indie lovers the likes of Florence and The Machine, Wolf Alice and Pixies will tick the sing along boxes, while DJs including Four Tet, Flume, Mura Masa, and Nina Kraviz will keep electronic music fans dancing all night.
For anyone attending we wish you all the luck and pray for minimal set clashes which judging by the lineup, may be unavoidable!
