Last week, acclaimed hip-hop duo Run The Jewels wrapped up a four night residency at LA’s Hollywood Palladium in celebration of their 10 year anniversary. Vince Bannon and Steve Rose were in the house for the full run to check it out.

In the decade that has passed since RTJ’s self titled debut, a lot has changed in the world. What hasn’t changed is the duo’s ability to craft a killer line, drop a beat to make your heart skip, and to attract a list of special guests that would put most festivals to shame. Over the four nights we were treated to guest spots by DJ Shadow, Danny Brown, Tunde Adebimpe and Tenacious D (who opened night four with a memorable take on the Queen classic We Are The Champions).

When it comes to special guests though, it doesn’t get much bigger than Rage Against The Machine frontman Zach De La Rocha, who turned up on night two to deliver an incendiary take on Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck), in his first onstage appearance since recovering from his ACL injury.

Despite the impressive litany of guests, though, the real stars on Sunset this week were Killer Mike and El-P. They’re clearly at the very height their craft right now, and we eagerly away RTJ-5 and beyond. We’ll be there all the way.
