SXSW ‘24: British Music Embassy Announces Lineup and New Venue
SXSW is almost upon us, and with just under a month to go until the Music, Interactive and Film festivals kick off, the folks behind the British Music Embassy have dropped possibly their strongest lineup yet, along with confirmation of their much-rumoured new venue.

Of most interest is the Fierce Panda / Xtra Mile Records birthday celebrations on March 11th. It features legendary indie-punks Ash, as well as SXSW favourite Frank Turner, and shanty-punks Skinny Lister, along with The Manatees, Neon Waltz, Pet Needs and China Bears.

Elsewhere on the bill, Vlure are back for another go after tearing the house down during last year’s closing party, and upstarts Coach Party, Shelf Lives and Hotwax will be bringing the noise. Our 2023 Must-See Live Act, The Lottery Winners will be popping up a couple of times across the week to showcase just why they walked away with that particular title.
In a somewhat surprising booking, Super Furry Animals frontman and all-round musical legend Gruff Rhys will be performing for BBC Introducing on March 14th, in what is sure to be one of the most anticipated shows of the week.

This year, for the first time, the BME will be running two stages within the venue, which has been announced as The Backyard at the Downright Austin hotel at 701 E. 11th Street. It’s a sprawling outdoor space which should give the BME the feel of a festival within the festival, and is sure to bring a whole new vibe to proceedings, whilst placing the Embassy back in the middle of SXSW, which seems to be moving more into East Austin each year.
As ever, we’ll be on the ground at SXSW bringing you the biggest stories as they happen, and the most exciting new acts.
