The Fans View: Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour

There probably isn't a music photographer working today who didn't start out by taking a compact or point and shoot camera to show to capture their first gigs. At our recent Image of Music Awards, our 2024 Legend winner, Jill Furmanovsky, recounted how she started doing just that to build her portfolio. It is this that inspired us to turn our attention to the fans, with a new semi-regular feature focussing on the best fan shot images from the biggest tours. And what better place to start than the very biggest - Taylor Swift's record breaking Eras Tour.

When we put out our call for images, one of the first to get in touch was Nicole DiBenedetto. The New Jersey native's images from the East Rutherford show are simply spectacular. Working from the crowd, Nicole shot these with the Sony RX100vii, which is rapidly gaining a reputation among concert goers as the camera to have if you need a point and shoot camera which yields impressive results.

Tarra Dunlop's impressive images are as good as anything we've seen from accredited photographers on this tour. Full of atmosphere and colour, Tarra has succeeded in utilising an excellend vantage point to capture the spirit of the Eras Tour, and created a set of images of which she can be rightly proud.

Cale Maloney took a slightly different approach. By taking a position in the upper tiers of the stadium, he managed to showcase the scale of the show, and the impressive staging which has become a hallmark of the Eras Tour. A wonderful and unique pair of images which make a fantastic addition to the record of this groundbreaing tour.
